Hello all! It's been a while!
I returned from the Florida field trip last Sunday and immediately fell into bed. All week long, I went to work then went to bed. I guess I was a wee bit exhausted, eh?
So, I had a break from exercising for a few days last week (the week I was on the field trip there was plenty of walking and snorkeling to keep me busy). Yesterday was the first day that I felt up to doing some exercise. Boy, did it feel good!
I did manage to keep my eating under control for the most part. Unfortunately, the food served at the Sea Camp (during the field trip) was processed carb, after processed carb. And very few veggies to be seen. When you're used to eating whole grains and heaping portions of vegetables, it's a bit of a shock to the system. Thankfully, I have returned to my regular eating habits now and my digestive tract is much happier for it.
I am now seven weeks into my new lifestyle. I have lost six pounds, shaved off some body fat, cleaned up my diet and maintained a regular exercise regimen (for the most part). I am starting to see progress in the mirror and I am definitely stronger. Yay, me!
So, folks, tell me how your journey is progressing.

Good progress. I am a very slow loser and it's taken me about 3 months to lose 5 pounds.
Well done on your achievement 6lbs is still a great amount - I was in Houston all week - of course the term small portion doesn't exist, thankfully some of my friends were happy to share some of my portions.
I confess I am terrified of standing on the scales tomorrow as I didn't do a weigh-in last week so I may have crept up a pound or even stayed the same
Great progress and isn't it a beautiful thing to finally see that your hard work is paying off. I worked out only 4 days last week... Over slept...uggh. I am still doing the slim n 6 dvd and mixing in 5lbs weights as well as some hula hooping. Just trying to confuse my body and avoid fizzing out. I avoid the scale and gauge loss by how my clothes fit. Feeling better and seeing some little body changes... So stay motivated and on to week 8.
Congrats on saying goodbye to those 6 pounds. I'm about the same weight-wise, but continue on the couch to 5K journey... tomorrow starts week 6!
Well done.. maybe it's time for some feedback to the sea camp!! Good to hear you are back at it. I have fallen off the wagon (after just getting on it) after pulling a muscle in my back (moving bags of soil - not exercising). I have still managed to sew of course :-)
This week I haven't done so well. Mostly, I haven't been eating very well. I have, however, been keeping up with the exercise. It's a new week now, so I'll work on it!
Congrats on six pounds! I am so surprised to hear that at a place like sea camp they would not have fresh seafood and veggies/fresh fruit??
But then again when I was in the hospital last year, I asked to speak to a dietician and I had my dinner delivered during the time she was there. We both laughed at what was served b/c it was not the real kind of food that one should be eating for health! ( carbs, canned fruits, desserts etc) so if they do this in a hospital while recovering from surgery, I guess this happens anywhere~ Its hard when all the choices are made for you in a situation like that~ Keep going, you will feel a whole lot better once you get that food out of your system~ I eat low carb getting any I need from veggies /furits,,,and just started to eat completely wheat free as my Dr told me to read the book The Wheat Belly,,( if you are a chemist you would understand it a lot better than I did) but now,,no wheat at all and I feel a LOT better and no appetite nor cravings anymore,,,totally amazing~ I wanted to share that with some of you , do read it if you get the chance, it changed how I lost weight and kept it off dramatically~
