I've hate the word "goodies." I had an aunt that always used this word to refer to candy and there was something in the way she said it that would make my skin crawl. Otherwise, she was a wonderful aunt, but every time she said "goodies," I wanted to poke ice picks in my ears. Just thought I'd share that bit of family trivia before I get to the point today.
Now, onward to the point...
What with all the double knit/ponte knit/RPL knit love that has been going around on sewing blogs lately, I was inspired to pick up a couple of pieces of Sophia Knit in Sweet Violet and Teal from Fabric.com (20% off sale, dontcha know). These puppies will become some fabu knit dresses in my future professional winter wardrobe.
And, in other news, aside from the fabric, I also picked up the knitting pattern book, Thrown Together, by Kim Hargreaves. I was inspired into single-minded obsession for this book after seeing Amy's version of the Aimee Shrug (which is pictured on the book's cover). For a peek at the other fab patterns in this book, check out this link.
Oh, so you didn't know that I can knit? Yesiree bub, it's just another of my varied and spectacular skills. I truly am a domestic goddess!

I wish I had the patience and passion for knitting, like I do for sewing! That looks like a great book.
Very good! You'll be able to do something during the house construction, as knitting is much more portable than sewing. Just don't buy so much yarn that moving becomes a problem.
I made a dress from that teal sophia knit... it's lovely to work with (but use a press cloth, it gets shiny easily!) I love Kim Hargreaves designs - I've made a bunch, and I'm sure you will love that book!
You multi-talented domestic goddess you!
I love anything by Kim Hargreaves, I'm knitting a dress of hers right now.
I have that book - it is gorgeous. I knitted the Rosa top and the Robin beret. They both get so much wear!
Lovely fabrics.
Wow, that's a fabulous knitting book allright! One of my plans for 2011 is to learn how to knit - I think I'm going to add this book to my Amazon wishlist...
Hope you are enjoying the holidays, Shannon!
I love to knit too, that cowl-y thing on the front cover is seriously beautiful! The colour mohair they've chosen to knit it up in is pretty yummy for winter...
Love the fabrics and that knitting pattern looks lovely. The shrug seems an easy knit.
