I Now Own a Viking (or Five)!

No, gentle readers of the blog that is supposed to have sewing related content, I am not referring to this kind of Viking:

But, rather, this kind of Viking:
Oh, yeah baby - that's a 36" open burner range from Viking's Professional Series.  I have always wanted a professional kitchen and I will now have one in the new house.  The only catch was that my new range insisted on bringing along a few friends (vent hood, microwave, fridge and dishwasher):

Last weekend, I shelled out the down payment and they are now waiting to be delivered to the new house next spring/summer.  Other than the blueprints, this is the first purchase that was made for the future abode.

Can I just say........SQUEEEEE!!

Oh, and for those of you that think that this post was all just a sly cover to brag about my new, awesome Viking appliances, it was.

So, neener, neener, neener.

And right now, you should all go to your kitchen and tell your Maytags, Kitchen Aids and Kenmores to kneel before my new appliances in supplication.

Go ahead, I'll wait.

My kitchen says " We're not worthy. We're not worthy."
Happy Thanksgiving from a fellow Canuck.

neener, neener, neener...I have Bosch...guess they only have to bow, not kneel! (well, and an antique Wedgewood stove with a chrome top) You did get me with the Viking reference though...don't remember you saying what kind of sewing machine do you have???

OMG! My Maytag Gemini has run for cover and I've a Thanksgiving Dinner to do! Couldn't wait until after the holiday to announce this?

Seriously, this an amazing start to your new abode. Congrats and enjoy the process of building your new home!

You know where my mind was - I was expecting to scroll down and see a state of the art sewing machine wonder. Those will work out so fabulously in your new home. I'm sure it will be the kind that we all peer at in magazines or on television and only dream about. I'm sure you deserve them.

ROTFLOL! That is tooo funny! But I'm happy that purchases are being made for the dream abode. And since I live in an apt - you know your appliances FAR exceed mine!

I asked my appliances nicely to kneel down in admiration. They won't. Too painfull in the joints, they say. THEY'RE THÁT OLD!
Congratulations with your new kitchen-appliances. I just can't wait to see what your new house is gonna look like. I think it will be amazing.

I have the same Viking appliances except my stove has a griddle down the middle. I love them they are the best mine are about a year old and they have worked great! Mine would like to shake your appliances hands since they are cousins.

Congratulations! I am very envious indeed - I think you're going to be cooking up some tasty food with your new Vikings.

Man! That fine steel is not for beginners! My kitchen crappage is in the corner cowering because it's so old the make has been scowered off. Thank goodness I rent and can leave all this behind :-)

Shannon, you were so smart to go with the top of the line! They will last forever and you will never have to regret having gone with lesser lines!

Definitely SQEEEE-worthy. Congratulations! My kitchen appliances decline to kneel, although they do look up to their larger and more powerful cousins. I am so looking forward to hearing more about your new house. Happy for you, and wishing you a smooth and on-budget build. :)

Being of the if-it-requires-more-than-2-pots-I-won't-make-it persuasion, I say kudos to you.

Now Prince Charming, he who both reads and cooks from Cook's Illustrated, is most jealous.

Living in an all electric part of town, one can only dream of having a gas range. Ahhhh.
