Lately, I have had a rash of comments that, aside from the actual comment, include an embedded link to a commercial website or web-based business. Please be aware that I will always delete these comments.
Please, don't get me wrong, I love (!) comments. I partially base my self-worth on the comments that my posts generate (there's nothing like a good ego stroking). However, I have consciously decided that this blog will not be a commercial zone. So, if you want to advertise or make money, more power to you. Just don't use my blog as a platform for your personal venture.
I don't make money from my blog, so why the hell would I let you make money from my blog?

Totally agree! They slowed down for about a week but this week they were back full force. Truly annoying!
I've had a few of these as well. They're like those annoying phone calls you get just as you're cooking dinner at night and as soon as you answer it you know it's a sales call.
Same here and it is very annoying. Plus I've had some in some sort of Asian script. I have no idea what is being said if anything so they go too.
You are so my girl! *LOL* I've been deleting some of them but you have encouraged me to go ahead and delete them all...but do you know that I found one on one of my posts from back in 2007!!!
Bravo!! I've also had the asian script thing, but had a few english words thrown in that told me it was junk. Basically spamming my comments. I get excited to read a new comment, then have to delete the garbage.
Very well said. I've received some myself, most recently the asian script one, which I need to go and delete.
Hooray for you Shannon! I have stopped visiting blogs that have advertisments. When things become just another money maker something is lost.
Good for you! Keep up the good work entertaining us!
Same here, I guess they've been hitting us all!
I just got my first one of these and wasn't sure what to think. Off to delete them now.
Yeah, there has been some distinct weirdness going on in the comments of late. I moderate comments on my blog so I reject them before they can even hit the screen. I must admit, I also don't like it when someone puts their blog url in the bottom of their comments. It just seems kind of rude.
Brava and well said! There seems to be a rash of this going around Blogland and I'm sorry that you've fallen victim to it at well. Keep up the wonderful blogging. I always look forward to the latest post. Following you and several of my other favorite bloggers has really inspired me to get better about my blog...now if only Blogger would stop erasing my hard-earned, lengthy posts as I type the last sentence!
I fully support you in this!
I've been getting some of these too. PITA
