Hee hee hee... It is sad, but amusing, that your rant reminds me of my father. His sense of smell must be diminishing with age, because the older he gets, the stronger the cologne gets. My 5 year old niece made the brilliant observation that somebody should put it on for him.
I love perfume! I don't mind if someone wears too much, it's better than smelling body odor! However, i can do without a few of the brands out there. Joop is one of them, it really makes me gag. So sorry if I have ever bumped into somewhere cause I probably overdo it a little with my perfume sometimes!
I wear only two fragrances-- Loren and Opium. I was taught that perfume should not be cheap (too much alcohol and chemical fragrances) and strong and that one should "glow.". So I just spray my left wrist, rub both wrists together and then rub on my tummy as body heat intensifies the fragrance. Then I dress. I "glow" and people with allergies (I am one also) are not troubled.
LOL. My bff has a teenage son who doesn't know that cologne needs to be subtle. Giving him a lift is not fun, especially since I am usually allergic to what he is wearing!
I'm sure you get whiffed (wafted?!) from your students, too. The boys in my daughter's class practically bathe in that Axe stuff. They are worse than the girls!

Amen!
Also, if I can smell you after you have left the area!
LOL!!! I have come across a few folks who bathe in their perfumes.
Yep! We had a lady in our office today who was in and out and I could still smell her. Wasn't good.
Amen, Sister!!!!

We have one pretty serious offender in our office. She fits a certain cultural stereotype.
I used to get sick to my stomach in the morning but fortunately, I moved to the other side of the building from her!
