Mother's Day Bouquet

Although I have decided not to partake in the gestation or rearing of human offspring, I am still a mommy.  It just happens that my son is really short and really hairy (which is likely what genetics would bestow upon me anyhow).  So, in honour of my exalted status as the mommy of Simon, I went a little nuts at the Fabric Mart Mother's Day Sale:

Obviously, I loves me some flowery fabric this spring season.  Or as Bubba puts it, "Anyway, like I was sayin', floral fabric is the fruit of the loom. You can make floral skirts, floral sheaths, floral tank tops, floral blouses, floral sundresses, floral capris, floral jackets ... that, that's about it."

I love your fabric choices too! Like you, dog ownership is as close as I ever plan to come to parenthood, so I hadn't thought of celebrating Mother's Day. But I'm sure my dog would want me to have something, wouldn't he? Hmm. :)

Gorgeous fabric choices - Simon's going to love seeing his Mommy in all those lovely prints because he's definitely a dog with good taste :)

I've seen several garments made up in that big orange floral and I love it! The green background with the big cabbage roses is stunning, too. Oh and I love the first one - in fact I think I would wear all of these fabrics. You're right, I should have celebrated mother's day in the same way. In fact, I just asked Molly's opinion and she said I should buy myself some fabric. Thanks for the inspiration!

Wish I had at least half of the selections shown here.

Ah, you always make me feel better about my fabric piggyness! *LOL* Because I already own the huge floral orange silk twill, the blue floral cotton voile, and the rose print jacquard (which is very drapey btw). And I know in a couple of months when some of these start showing up as finished garments that I will wonder why I didn't buy some of that too! *sigh* I have serious fabric issues!

And Happy Mother's Day to Simon's mommy!

Well I'm so happy that Simon spoiled you so thoroughly. Those are great fabrics. I've seen one of them somewhere made, haven't I? And I love the border print in the last row. g

Ooh, I love those eyelets (that is eyelet right?) But I'm on a fabric diet. So I will NOT go look. I won't.

ps. Happy Mother's Day! :D

LOL!!! Better flowers on fabric than surrounded by weeds, eh? And LOL again! I'm laughing at being a Dog Mom, I'll bet Simon isn't.

Wow, what a shopping spree! Can't wait to see what you make out of these. I will be showing this post to my cats and dropping hints for next Mother's day.

Ah, glad to hear Simon got you something for Mother's Day. My boys, Puck and Maximus signed me up for a magazine subscription (3 years! Wow!) and a book.

I think the book is so I will sit still enough for them to snooze on my lap for an afternoon.
