Lacquer Lundi

Hi Folks, I will be taking a week off of LL posts. On the field trip to Florida, I came down with a stomach bug that almost killed me and I have spent the last week trying to recover from it. I can honestly say that I have never been that sick in my whole life. Between the complete evacuation of my system (I'll let you read between the lines here, rather than get all graphic), dehydration and a distinct loss of appetite, I lost five pounds over four days. I am finally back to normal eating, but I am still quite tired. So, polishing my nails was the absolute last thing on my mind. But, I'll be back next week with some great new colours.

I also wanted to provide a small update on Simon (as I've had a few inquiries). His back seems to be healed and he is full of piss and vinegar once again. So, hopefully barring any re-occurance of ulcer symptoms, he will be back to his old self. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I know exactly how you feel, because I had the same bug a week before Thanksgiving. It was awful. Hope you're up and running soon!

Uh oh - had something very similar late last winter. They called it acute gastroenteritis and I passed out twice on the floor. I was severely dehydrated rather quickly and lost 7 lbs. in a week. It took me six weeks to recover, so take care and get better.

Exactly 5 years ago I had this happen. I know because it was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I lost about the same amount of weight and it was about 3 months before I could eat meat again. I got scared about 3 hours into my, um, episode.
Glad you're feeling better and will polishing soon. But why'd'ya have to get sick on vacation? Or is a field trip the anti-vacation?

Oh man, that sounds horrible. After terrible food poisoning in Vietnam my consolation prize was the fun of regaining 8 pounds! Enjoy the junk food. `-)

So glad Simon is better, but sorry to hear you have been so sick! I don't blame you at all for not being interested in your nails - it would be the last thing on your mind. Get well soon :-)

Glad to hear that you and Simon are both on the mend. Dog full of P&V is always a good sign.

Trying to think positive here, if you're missing that 5 lbs, just think of how much fun it will be to regain it during the holidays. Once you can look at food again.

Feel better.
