Who's...

...your daddy?*

*Please do not take this to mean that I am all that hung up on hockey (or any other sporting event for that matter), but I do enjoy a good "in your face" moment.  So, my fabulous American friends, I invite you to suck it. I mean this in the nicest way possible  :)

We are the champions.  We are the champions.  No time for losers.  'Cause we are the champions - of the world!

Neener, neener, neener!

Very Good Game! Great Game! Didn't breathe for most of it. No other team I'd rather we lose to!

Congratulations!!! I didn't get to watch the game because I had to go to work, but I enjoy a good "in-your-face" moment too, so even though we lost, I will suck it up and enjoy the moment with you!!!

My husband and I are ex Canadians, living a better life in Cairns, Australia. We are patriotic Australians, believing Canada to be totally expunged from our identities- until that hockey game!! We watched it live. I had been quite concerned for those poor hockey players, who would have ruined the whole Olympic effort if they had (shudder) lost. What a huge relief when my temporarily fellow Nova Scotian scored that vital goal. Mae

Don't follow hockey that much and I was hoping for a USA win, but it would just be wrong to take the gold from Canadians when the games are in Canada! Way to go!

DJ, I'm such an idiot, I did have it right the first time!!! But since I watched it with my fiance (who was raised in Canada) who was slightly smug over the win, I fell apart! Shannon's 'neener neener neener' didnt help either!!!

Yeah well you were suppose to win...being from the land of snow and ice! It's not like you won the NBA Championships or anything! *LOL*

Seriously, congrats! You should be proud!

It was a pretty crazy game there at the end though--it really was anyone's game going into OT. It's good that ya'll got a couple of medals anyway. ;-) (I was totally rooting for ya'll to win the cross country ski thing today, but just didn't quite get it done.) :-(

Congrats. Canada deserved to win.

GO CANADA!!!! A great game & a great Olympics for us. Hope everyone else enjoyed their little taste of Canada the last 2 weeks.

I'll be big enough to wish you congratulations! We Americans did give you Canadians a good run though.

Canada had to fight for it. I'm glad it was Canada if it couldn't be the U.S. The Canadian team had to play well for their win. Hey, what's this "neener, neener, neener"?

Becky said...

LOL! I didn't actually watch the game, but from what I hear, it was a well-earned victory. Congrats!

I had hoped the US would win, but I'm glad you guys won as the pressure on those poor guys had to have been INSANE!

Speaking of Canadian athletes, how fabulous that Joannie Rochette took the bronze in figure skating?! That poor girl has been through hell and the courage she showed this week is just amazing.

You won, ok, but you didn't skate all over us or nuthin'! It was an exciting game and if we had to lose at least it was to our neighbors. We do keep stealing all your funny guys, to be fair.

Suzy said...

Yes, you won, and kudos to Team Canada for that! But, at least it was a nice, close, intense hockey game. No free skate goin' on!

Now, send some more comedians down here, but keep the inflatable beavers! 8-)

Well, I know nothing about sports (congratulations anyway!), but "linkwithin" pointed me to your "Camelot SWAP", and I had the pleasure of re-reading those posts. I wasn't a commenter then, so let me say now how absolutely gorgeous those garments were/are! Any chances of you participating in SWAP again? (I like my spectator sports, too!)

Say didn't we beat you guys once already in the Olympics, what was with the do over??? Congratulations, it was a helluva game and I'm not that much of a hockey fan.

Awesome game! I gotta say, you Canadians earned it, Shannon!
That was the highlight of the Olympics for me. It was riveting.
And I'm American.
But when something is good, it's good, no matter what NBC would have us believe.
Congratulations to Canada!

Couldn't happen to a nicer country :-)

Okay, well, thinking about it, maybe there were TWO highlights for me- the other being the incredible Shaun White, and his gold medal performance! So, so cool. 'Cause Animal* just ROCKS...
