Anyhoodle, this outfit centred around two of my favourite things: getting UFOs off my back and getting cashmere onto it. First, let's chat about the UFOs. The pants are (yet another pair of) Loes Hinse Hepburns made from a black linen/rayon blend woven purchased from Fabric Mart. The top is a shortened version of the Textile Studio Madison Avenue dress, created from a knit purchased when Textile Studio was still a purveyor of beautiful fabrics (Man, I miss that resource. Marsha, why have you forsaken me?).
Over top, I threw on an orange cardigan that was one of the many purchases made during the Great Cashmere Haul of 2009. Lastly, I pinned on an enamel bee from the Joan Rivers jewelery collection sold on the Shopping Channel (the Canadian home shopping network) and donned my black double strap Marilla Mary Janes by Clarks. All together, a comfy, professional outfit.

Ive always liked orange and black, and you know, I never think Halloween when I see. I mean, when it's not actually Halloween. Anyway, you look very lovely here! The blouse is quite romantic!

I don't get why everything orange and black is halloweenish. That outfit is not halloween at all. I love it. Very well put together. I considered making a pumpkin colored top recently and wondered if anyone would say something if I wore it with black pants.

doesn't look halloween to me, but, then again, i am not a snarky teen. i might need to give that pants pattern a second look. since getting a new, bigger, bulkier brace for my knee, most of pants won't fit over it. grrrr. i need some quick to make looser fitting pants.
Adorable! I'd definitely glare at anyone who suggested that I was dressing for Halloween, for comments like that. Now my question is, why can't I find adorable prints like that when I am shopping for fabric?

I didn't see the Halloween connection either! But then, my high school colors were orange and black(and our mascot the witch) so I see nothing wrong with those colors year round, even almost 20 years later!
